In Nigeria of today,the two major political parties represent the two most practice religions in the country,and we tend to vote for candidates base of this. Likewise the general election usually do justice to this followings are states won by each political parties in the last presidential election:
The APC,flag bearer,president Muhammadu Buhari, won 17 states out the total of 19 states with muslims as the sitting governors,except Oyo and Adamawa states,while he won 2 states out of the total of 17 states with sitting christians governors,except all the states in the SS, SE, Plateau, Benue and Taraba states.
The PDP candidate,Alhaji Atiku Abubabar,won 15 states out of the total 17 states with christians governors,except Lagos and Ekiti,while he won 2 states with sitting muslims governors,except the states in the NW,Bornu,Yobe,Gombe,Bauchi,Kogi,Kwara,Niger,Nasarawa,Ogun and Osun states
